1982 Fiat Ritmo Abarth 125 TC VHC homologation possible This is one of the rarest cars on the market. Produced in just under 10, 000 examples, it's a model that belongs in the collectable category, a category that includes rare, characterful, specific and even exclusive cars whose value continues to climb. The Ritmo: a collector's item, yes, but why? A special car in terms of its design, but above all in terms of its performance! Equipped with a 2-litre DOHC engine developing 125 bhp, the little bombshell dethroned the Golf GTI at the time. With its lowered ground clearance and closer bars, wide polyurethane spoiler, ventilated disc brakes and only 980 kg on the scales, it took just 9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100. A devilishly efficient car, therefore, which is rarely seen and which has its place in today's historic rallies. It is also eligible for the historic Monte Carlo, among other events. This car is beautifully presented. The bodywork has been completely repainted to match the original colour. It is fitted with 4 original rims and comes with a set of 4 additional original rims that have been completely rebuilt.
The chassis, rocker panels and side members are in good condition. The car is fitted with its original engine and original ZF 5-speed gearbox. GIACO RACING carries out regular servicing.
An engine removal/ replacement was carried out around ten years ago to change the connecting rod bearings and check the crankshaft. Major work has included: - head gasket replacement and resurfacing 2021 - valve adjustment 2021 - timing belt change 2021 - fuel tank refurbishment 2015 - performance fuel pump installation 2015 - clutch mechanism change 2015 - carburettor refurbishment 2015 Routine maintenance - Last service: 2022 - Front discs have 5000 km. The braking system has been bled - Tyres wear 30% The interior is very well preserved and original. The dashboard is faultless and all the instrumentation is functional. In addition to the original 'racing' equipment, with the nanometers for example, the following have been fitted: - an aluminium crankset - an aluminium footrest - a long-range switch - bucket seats with harnesses - a roll bar that can be unbolted This is precisely to be able to take part in historic rallies in complete safety.
However, it is easy to go back to the original configuration as the original seats are sold with it and the roll bar can be easily removed. A singular, unusual car with recognised performance for those who want to enjoy themselves on vintage rallies. This is an original, well-maintained and extremely well-maintained example.
