The MGA was introduced in 1955 and introduced a completely new design style to the previous MG TD and MG TF models. The exceptionally streamlined bodywork was so different that MG chose to call this model the MGA, rather than a continuation of the T series. The result was an elegant, sporty roadster with an elongated front end and a low seating position. Many years have passed since then and we can still enjoy this wonderfully enjoyable roadster. This certainly applies to this MGA, which was originally delivered in the Netherlands as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) car and then assembled. The original body colour is probably ash green. During a complete restoration, the choice was not only made to change the colour to the elegant and sporty Orient Red. During the restoration, it was also decided to modify the car into a MKII version. As a result, this MGA now has MKII bodywork and the engine block has also been changed to a 1622cc engine. The fact that the car is also fitted with disc brakes at the front indicates that this has been done with great care, and the car has been maintained with great care and love over the years. This is not only evident from the car itself, but also from the various service invoices that are included with the car. The beautiful Orient Red colour has a deep shine and is in good condition. The various chrome and trim parts are also still in good condition. And that also applies to the particularly elegant chrome-spoke wheels with exterior mirrors. The interior is in exceptionally good condition. The black imitation leather seats show some light patina, but are particularly comfortable and well seated. The dashboard is also still in very good condition and all the instruments work correctly. The original black 'banjo' steering wheel is not only beautiful to look at, but also feels good in the hand. The black soft top and side screens are also still in good condition. This MGA drives and shifts exceptionally well. The 1, 622cc petrol engine runs quietly and smoothly and provides plenty of power for a comfortable drive. The car steers very well and the brakes are also good and firm, thanks in part to the front disc brakes. Gear changes are also very smooth and precise.
