AUSTIN MORRIS MINI 1275 GT 1979 . A low owner , Highly Original example .

We are delighted to be able to offer you this lovely, low owner Vermillion Red 1979 Mini 1275 GT .

The car has come from the last owner of 29 years, who was a bodyshop professional . He purchased the car in 1996 from the family of the original owner, and has this receipt , paying £550 at the time .

He restored the cars body about 5 or 6 years ago . The bodyshell was stripped to bare metal and new floor pans and inner wings were installed. It still looks showroom fresh ..

Although the body was fully restored , he meticulously endeavoured to keep everything else in original and untouched condition, hence this is indeed a rare find. Unmolested examples of these are very desirable..

The running gear was checked before refitting , and is all original to the car ( Matching Numbers ) .

The interior is all original, in very good order , with only minor signs of wear ...

All the brightwork is original and in good order .

The car comes with a heritage certificate, a folder full of invoices, and the best part .... a note book, kept by the original owners, documenting all the expenditure that the car ever received, including every fuel tank fill up, and the cost per gallon of the fuel !!

The 'blunt-nosed' Mini Clubman and 1275 GT were introduced alongside the original 'round-nosed' models in 1969. The revised snout was the work of former Ford stylist Roy Haynes. The Clubman was intended to replace the upmarket Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet, while the initial role of the 1275 GT was to take the place of the long running 998cc Cooper though, following the demise of the Cooper S in 1971, it ultimately became the only sporting Mini to be offered for the rest of that decade. The model was better equipped than its round-nosed siblings and offered better crash protection. The performance was also quite lively for the time, with a 0-60mph time of 12. 9 seconds and strong mid-range torque ensuring good in-gear acceleration.

As always, we can arrange delivery and will take another interesting car in part exchange .

Please call Andrew or email .
