SOLD & DEPOSIT TAKEN This lovely Triumph Stag Automatic - Chassis No: LD44693A & Engine No: LF044779HEA is a 'matching numbers' car and was supplied new by British Leyland dealer Bewac Motors in Mansfield to its first owner, a Mr B T Sharp from Gravesend, Kent and it first registered on 3rd April 1978 with the number plate XAU 999S. Mr Sharp only kept the car for just over a year and it was sold to Greencote Motor Company in Chessington, Surrey who part exchanged the car with Renault dealer Garwood's Garages Ltd in Wood Green, London, N22 on 21st June 1979. The Managing Director of the dealership at this time was Mr John Garwood, and he was apparently so taken with the car that he decided to keep it for himself. It was naturally regularly maintained by their service department during the whole 24 years that Mr Garwood owned this car until it was sold to a Mr J McRadmond from Cheshunt in Hertfordshire in October 2003 for £7, 000. Mr Garwood did keep the original numberplate when the car was sold it and it now wears the replacement age related plate: BLK 109S. Mr McRadmond used Triumph Stag specialists Hart Racing Services in Park Royal for servicing and repairs during his ownership, and they fitted new Timing chains and a chain tensioner assembly, Poly bushes throughout including trailing arms, diff mounts and subframe mountings and a Piranha electronic ignition system at 47, 000 miles. He sold the car in 2005 to the next lady owner from Englefield Green in Surrey and she kept the car for 10 years driving just over 7, 000 miles in the car before selling it to the Triumph Stag Shop (C K Classics) in Alcester, Worcestershire in late 2015. They sold the car to the current owner from Cranleigh in Surrey in February 2016 for £21, 945 and this included various works on the car including bare metal repaint of the car, a complete re-trim of the interior, new Dark Blue Mohair Soft Top, refurbish Hard Top, fully detailed Engine Bay and a number of other small improvements. It was eventually finished in August and he took delivery on 14th August 2016 with the mileage from new recorded as 54, 489. During his ownership of 9 years, the car has been maintained by Triumph TR & Stag specialist Enginuity in Acton, and there receipts in the file for almost £7, 000 which did include a full top end engine rebuild with re-skimmed cylinder heads due to overheating back in July 2018 @ 56, 130 miles. The car is finished in its original colour scheme of Sapphire Blue with a Tan interior, Blue Mohair Soft Top, factory Hard Top, its original Triumph 2997cc V8 Engine, Automatic Transmission, Power Assisted Steering, Stainless Steel Exhaust and it is sitting on its original 15'' Alloy Wheels. The car has now covered a genuine and fully documented 58, 837 miles from new with all MOT certificates from its first one back in 1982, a huge number of invoives and job cards from Garwoods during the 24 years it was owned by Mr Garwood, all invoices since then, its original Supercover Book with all the original leaflets and fully stamped Passport to Service Book, old photographs and a CD containing the restoration of the car carried out by the Triumph Stag Shop. The car really is something special and it drives superbly. There is some micro-blistering on the bonnet and rear deck which has only just appeared after being in storage over the winter according to the owner, but other than that it is in excellent condition considering it was repainted and re-trimmed 9 years ago. It has 'Historic Vehicle' status, and therefore the car is ULEZ exempt, MOT exempt and Road Tax free. Upon sale the car will receive a pre-sales service and new MOT and it will come with our own 6 Month Mechanical Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required. A full set of photographs and a video will follow upon completion of our showroom preparation. Car on Display @ our showrooms. NB: Classic Chr
