Fully restored
Rare colour: Bordeaux red (573G)
One of 5, 202 "Koenigsflossen" ever produced
In the period between the discontinuation of the Adenauer at the beginning of 1962 and the launch of the Mercedes-Benz 600 at the end of 1963, the 300 SE was the finest saloon that Mercedes-Benz had on offer to its customers.
Only 5202 vehicles of the 300 SE were produced between February 1961 and July 1965. Compared with the production figures for the other Heckflossen W 110 (628, 282 units in total) and W 111 (338, 003 units in total), the W112 limousines were a genuine rarity even at the time of their production.
Externally, the Koenigsflosse is immediately recognisable by its extensive chrome and trim. The C-pillars also feature large chrome-plated air vents with the 300SE lettering.
All W 112 models are equipped with special technical features as standard. They make the real difference to the W 111 models:
Six-cylinder engine with mechanical intake manifold injection (300SL block)
Newly developed four-speed automatic transmission
Newly developed air suspension for a constant vehicle level in all load situations
Front and rear disc brakes
Power steering
Differential lock
Brake hold-down on the rear axle. Prevents excessive rebound during braking and the associated associated camber changes
Our car also features a mechanical steel sunroof (Webasto) and the Becker Mexico radio.
The Heckflosse is painted in the rarely chosen but very elegant ‘Bordeaux Red’ colour, just as it once left the factory in Sindelfingen.
