Description
Hello, This 1969 Daimler, right-hand drive, has been fully restored, but not in concours condition. Everything has been done including the engine, gearbox, brakes, interior (leather upholstery), bodywork etc. A complete file will be provided. The reason the price is so low is that although the car has done 240 km with a new engine, there was a problem with the revs. Two successive mechanics who were supposed to work on it left it outside without touching it. So for nearly three years it was exposed to the elements, which caused damage to both the exterior (a few spots of rust) and the interior (the leather was not damaged, but other parts were). Oil was found in one cylinder. It has not been restarted to avoid damaging the engine, even though it has been completely rebuilt. To be on the safe side, the engine had to be rebuilt, and the source of the oil in the cylinder had to be investigated. The bodywork and interior also have to be rebuilt. This explains the low price. As I said, the car was running but not at top speed. As she can't go to the MOT centre, there won't be one. I'll answer any questions, but I'm very sorry I can't take the car back as I've spent over €25, 000 on the work. I can't put any more in, which is why I'm selling it and parting with great regret.
