Welcome to one of, if not _the_ very best, R107 300 SL available today. Finished in gleaming Signal Red with a virtually unmarked interior in Cream Leather, this exceptional SL is simply a delight to be around and a testament to the care and dedication of its owner during his eight years of custodianship.
He has dedicated much of his recent life to the Concours field and, with occasional advice from me, has achieved a Master Class Award in addition to Best in Show and Best Convertible.
I have personally driven this car and can only describe it as close to a perfect R107 300 SL as you are ever likely to find. The level of detail is remarkable, particularly in all the places that you need to look when you know the R107 like the door hinges, door locks, seat anchor fixings, boot well and boot hinges. The spare wheel has never been dismounted from its home with mounting card and factory markings dots and the Tool Roll is still in its original plastic bag and sealed, you don't see that very often. The engine and engine bay are a masterpiece with original grey paint on the exhaust manifold, fresh plastic bottles for header tank and washer bottle, and all the correct factory decals and painted markers in the right places.
The Soft Top has been replaced with a genuine Mercedes part and fits like a glove without a single crease and the underneath of the car is undoubtedly better than when it was new.
The car’s history file includes three binders detailing all the work carried out over the years with invoices and receipts, older Tax Discs and MOT Certificates and its V5C. The 2nd owner in the logbook never took delivery of the car and decided to spend his money on his property at the time so, effectively, it’s a two-owner car but the V5 does list three.
As you can see from our images, the car has acquired a substantial quantity of Silverware, however, it is regularly enjoyed on the open road (weather permitting) as, after all, that’s what it’s made for.
