A factory built hot hatch special, designed to conquer all & cement its place as the fastest production front wheel drive car around the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Starting life as the Megane 275 Trophy, the Trophy R shed a remarkable 100kg of weight by deleting the rear seats, rear wiper, the majority of sound deadening & replacement of the usual front seats came ultra-supportive Recaro bucket seats.
Also fitted were lightweight 19-inch Speedline alloy wheels & sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.
The result? A blistering lap time of just 7min 54sec in June 2014, headline-grabbing performance that still impresses today.

History
Renault & the Nürburgring share a long-standing relationship, few manufacturers have demonstrated such mastery of the front wheel drive chassis. Following the legendary R26. R, the Mk3 Megane Trophy R pushed the limits even further, proving that lightweight engineering often beats brute power.
Setting a blistering lap time of 7min 54sec in June 2014, the Trophy R stood as the benchmark for production front wheel drive performance & remains seriously quick to this day.
This example has zero previous owners stated on the V5, covering just 804 miles, this example was stored away until recent years.

Body & Paintwork
Striking is the word, the Trophy R has serious road presence. Echoing its R26. R predecessor, the Trophy R looks superb with its signature red highlights (decals, wheels & brake calliper’s) & presenting beautifully.
The paintwork is all original throughout, with all badges, glass & lights in ‘as new’ condition, just as you would expect. Some very mild discolouration to the red decals but this is being very fussy.
Wheels are unmarked & had new Pilot Sport 5 tyres fitted in October 2023.

Interior & Trim
Step inside & it’s immediately clear this is no ordinary Renault Megane.
A driver focused cabin with a purposeful intent & those superb Recaro bucket seats which offer some of the best support we have ever experienced & this example has the RS Monitor fitted too.
Condition is outstanding throughout, the seats, steering wheel & all trim present without fault. Everything works exactly as it should & the overall feel is every bit as special as Renault Sport intended.
Engine
The engine bay presents well, fresh, clean & still proudly wearing its factory markings.
Cold starts are instant with no hesitation, no smoke on idle, boost or overrun. Performance is strong throughout the rev range with no unwanted noises.
A fantastic driving experience, exactly as it should be.
Running Gear
The underside condition of this Trophy R is very good, unrestored & well preserved, benefiting from limited, dry weather use only.
On the road, the car drives exactly as you would expect, tight, precise & every bit as engaging as a Trophy R should be.
