FIVA Pass
Mechanics overhauled for over 200, 000 CHF
Overall, the vehicle has the look and, above all, the driving feel of an original 6 ½ litre Speed Six with Vanden Plas Open Tourer bodywork.
According to Dr. Clare Hay's book "Bentley Speed Six," our chassis number was delivered new in August 1929 with a "Lancefield Saloon" body.
According to Hay, the last registered owner was in 1947, after which the car was probably dismantled and the parts installed in other Bentleys.
The present FIVA passport mentions a restoration between 1979 and 1995.
The vehicle ran in England for years afterward and was often used at international events such as Monterrey Historic.
Under current ownership (since 2008), the Bentley has undergone extensive technical overhauls. We have received invoices totaling over CHF 200, 000.
The engine, transmission, axles and other components were completely overhauled with the utmost care.
This vehicle is sure to offer unsurpassed driving pleasure to the new owner who wants to experience the performance of a Speed Six.
The 6. 5 liter Speed Six produced 180 hp thanks to its two SU carburettors and higher compression, making it one of the fastest and most powerful cars of its era.
The victories at Le Mans in 1929 and 1930 as well as Woolf Barnato's race against the Blue Train from Cannes to London and Calais are legendary.
To this day, the Speed Six remains the most successful racing Bentley.
