Supplied new by Normand Mayfair in 1970 the car was in everyday use until the mid-1980s, a sheaf of MoT certificates and service invoices showing that by 1986 it had covered 70, 000 miles. Having acquired the car in 1988, the present owner used it occasionally for a few years before sending it to J A Garages of Leek for an overhaul in 1999 with the mileage at 77, 000. Fifteen years later, with the mileage now at 83, 000, Silchester Garage in Berkshire were entrusted with significant cosmetic and mechanical work, then in 2019 the same people overhauled the suspension and rear axle. Most recently the car has enjoyed a refresh by Wilkinsons Coachbuilders of Derby and now presents beautifully with its gleaming white coachwork and immaculate engine compartment and underbody.
