Harley-Davidson was founded in Milwaukee in 1903 and has since become one of the world's best-known and longest-running motorcycle manufacturers. Typifying the American dream of cruising on the open roads, Harley-Davidson is the archetype for large-capacity laid back bikes, which many have tried to copy but never quite equaled HDs image and prestige. The V-Rod VRSCA (V-Twin Racing Street Custom) was introduced in 2001 and was the famous manufacturer's first road bike with a modern water-cooled engine, a DOHC four-valve V-twin developed in partnership with Porsche Engineering. The bike was styled more along the lines of a drag racing muscle bike, rather than the traditional Sportster of full dress custom models normally offered by Harley.
This stunningly presented V-Rod was registered to HD UK for the first 2 years of its life and was fitted with what appears to be every available genuine chrome accessory offered at the time including a Screamin Eagle exhaust system. Under the importer's ownership, it carried out around 3500 miles, mainly being driven around Europe as a backdrop in their photoshoot for the 'Motorclothes' official clothing catalogue. Sold in 2006, the buyer owned the bike for the next 19 years, only adding around 600 miles and keeping it stored in an inflatable air bubble. The notoriously weak fuel gauge has been improved upon by the recent fitting of a new sender from Tristarr USA. It will come supplied with a copy of the clothing catalogue, with the bike featuring in many photos, its original V5C showing HD as the first owner, 2 keys, a factory fitted alarm system, its original owners manual, a current V5C and is MOTd until 02-07-2026. A unique opportunity to acquire a beautifully presented Harley with a fascinating history.
