Description

The Austin 7 is an economy car that was produced from 1923 until 1939. It was nicknamed the "Baby Austin" and was, at that time, one of the most popular cars produced for the British market. Its effect on the British market was similar to that of the Model T Ford in the US, replacing most other British economy cars of the early 1920s.

The engine starts and runs well, possibly not for the purist it is fitted with the later Ruby engine and 4 speed gearbox. Although not original it is very much a period conversion and in some ways a better option. There is no frost damage and all fluids are in the correct places.

The drivetrain is in good order, all gears are direct and the clutch as smooth as an Austin 7 gets! The wheels have been refurbished and has new tyres all round, the brakes work well and the car handles like a typical 7.

The bodywork is very solid, it is far from immaculate and has plenty of character. The interior was retrimmed at the time of the restoration, and is in good condition through out.

It has many later Austin 7 parts fitted if your looking for a good usable Austin 7 that drives nicely you will be more than happy, if your looking for something with a purist hat on then its likely not the one. We do have a history file, including the current V5.
