The 99 was essentially a 500cc Model 88 taken out to 596cc and fitted with a new head offering higher compression
With 31bhp, the class-leading 'Featherbed' frame and 'Roadholder' forks, the 99 was a very desirable package in period
By 1960, the bike typically featured modern alternator electrics and coil ignition, replacing the older magneto/ dynamo setup
Equipped with a 4-speed gearbox (AMC) and full width aluminium drum brakes front and rear
This matching engine and frame numbers example has been with our vendor since 2018
Subject to much expenditure, it presents well in the attractive colour combination of black and cream and benefits from new rims and stainless spokes
According to its owner 'The engine runs well, but there is a small wiring problem in the headlamp'. It has been stored for a while and may have 'wet sumped' whilst stood
With a reputation for excellent handling and classic British styling, there is a ready market for Norton's handsome Dominator, particularly in this well presented, cared-for condition
