At first glance, you know it immediately: this is a force of nature. An otherworldly supercar. The Donkervoort F22 is the successor to the legendary GTO and represents the evolution of the brand: stiffer, lighter, and more powerful than ever before. A car that feels completely at home on the racetrack, yet also impresses on public roads thanks to its comfort-oriented options. Beneath its ultra-lightweight carbon skin lies Audi’s unparalleled 2. 5 TFSI five-cylinder engine, delivering an astonishing 500 hp and 640 Nm of torque in this F22, paired with a manual transmission that places the driver firmly at the center of the experience.
The five-speed manual gearbox comes standard with Bosch rev-matching technology, which can be fully switched off should you wish to rely on your own heel-and-toe skills. A limited-slip differential is also standard, housed in a newly developed differential casing specifically designed for the F22. This design allows the differential to operate without additional cooling, even during intensive track use, resulting in reduced weight. The new casing is stronger and also helps minimize drivetrain noise in the passenger compartment.
Weighing just 750 kg, the F22 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/ h in only 2. 5 seconds and reaches 200 km/ h in just 7. 5 seconds. Keep your foot down and it will continue on to a top speed of 290 km/ h. Quite simply sensational. All of this is paired with handling that feels more like a race car than a road-legal vehicle. Cornering speeds are so high that lateral forces exceeding 2G can be achieved.
The Twin Targa roof features two carbon-fiber panels on either side of a removable central carbon-fiber T-bar. The roof panels can be removed using three manual latches, while the central section can be released at the push of a button, just like the forward-hinged hood. The panels can then be stored neatly in a dedicated matching bag in the luggage compartment.
This F22 is perfectly specified. The Alcantara-trimmed interior is fitted with bespoke lightweight Recaro seats made from carbon fiber. A notable innovation is the set of six-point harnesses, approved for both road and track use. In addition, the car is equipped with power steering, air conditioning, and heated seats. Other features include a front-axle lift system, carbon-forged lightweight alloy wheels, power steering, a Class 5 alarm system, and a rear-view camera.
Donkervoort has announced that only 100 examples of the F22 will be built. If the F22 was not already exclusive enough by its design, its limited production makes it even more so. This did not go unnoticed among enthusiasts, and the entire production run was sold out even before the model’s official launch. With many examples destined for the United States and the Middle East, the F22 has become an exceptionally rare sight in Europe.
This F22 is registered in the Netherlands and has covered just 894 km, making it virtually new. Needless to say, the car is in perfect condition. A rare opportunity for the Donkervoort enthusiast to acquire a nearly new F22.
