Description
I am advertising this motorcycle on behalf of the owner who is a friend of mine
It was previously supplied by us
1970 Triumph Bonneville T120
U. K. Supplied From New matching Frame & engine Numbers
This bike has a build date of March 1970 so is the last and often regarded as the best of the pre-oil in frame Bonneville’s.
It was supplied by Triumph to Rogerson’s of Orrell and was first registered on the 1st July 1970.
In the next eight years it had two local keepers until it was sold in April 1978, again to a local man.
It was last MOT’d in March 1980 and the following year the owner took it off the road intending to strip and rebuild it.
The rebuild, which was very thorough, was done over a long period, to near completion and to a very good standard. However, due to the length of time taken the owner reluctantly had to admit that he was no longer young enough to ride the bike. I then did the small number of minor jobs remaining and sold it in April 2021 to the current owner who has had it since. It has now covered around 1700 miles including some lengthy day trips which have obviously ironed out the small inevitable faults common with a rebuilt ‘zero miles’ bike.
New Amal Premier carburettors were fitted last year and other recent work carried out includes a front forks strip and new seals fitted. There has also been a Morgo oil pump fitted.
This is a well sorted good looking U. K. bike in good condition, with everything running as it should. It has been used regularly and is very original. It would be difficult to find as good an example at this age, condition and degree of originality. It is only being sold because of a change in the owner’s personal circumstances and him not having enough time to ride it.
