Launched at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2012, the 458 Spider was Ferrari’s first mid-engine sports car to feature a fully-electric folding aluminium hard top.
It would also be the last Ferrari sports model to be powered by a naturally aspirated V8. As such, the 458 is gaining renewed interest from those who appreciate the performance of a larger capacity engine without the need for turbo-charging or hybrid technology.
Regarded at the time of its introduction as the pinnacle of driver focussed sports cars, the superb and refined 4. 5Ltr V8 provides an experience that is difficult to match. Producing 570BHP and with a soundtrack that will sadly never be repeated, performance via the seven speed dual-clutch gearbox is effortless with 80% of the engines torque being available from just 3, 000rpm. This was the first mid-positioned Ferrari road engine to feature direct fuel injection and is a delight in either normal road conditions or on the race track.
This superb 458 Spider is finished in the desirable specification of Bianco Avus paintwork matched to a Nero black leather interior with optional contrasting white stitching and black carpets. Supplied with an extensive list of optional extras which includes fully electric seats with the embroidered Ferrari logo to the headrests, the interior is complimented with optional carbon fibre to both the drivers zone, dashboard inserts, centre console and door sills. Additional options to the interior include the carbon fibre steering wheel with LED’s, yellow rev. counter and a black leather headlining.
Further specified options include a sports exhaust, 20″ forged dark painted alloy wheels with yellow brake calipers, Scuderia shields to the front wings, exposed carbon fibre rear moulding and a carbon fibre rear diffuser. Together with satellite navigation, parking cameras and front and rear park distance sensors, the high powered hi-fi, tyre pressure monitoring and cruise control all enhance the driving experience and desirability of this exceptional example.
