At the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show, Ferrari lifted the cover on its entry into the new breed of hybrid-electric hypercars. Successor to the 288 GTO, F40, F50, and the Enzo, this creation was simply christened LaFerrari—literally meaning “The Ferrari”. When the media and enthusiasts dissected the design, engineering, and performance numbers, it was difficult to argue with such a boastful name.
A mid-mounted 6. 3-litre V-12 engine lifted from the developmental FXX model featured an absurd compression ratio of 13. 5:1. It developed 789 horsepower and redlined at a lofty 9, 250 rpm. The 516 pounds-feet of torque arrived relatively high in the rev range, at just shy of 7, 000 rpm. An electric motor derived from the company’s Formula 1 Kinetic Energy Recovery System in the rear added 161 horsepower, greatly improving response and acceleration at lower engine speeds. In total the two powertrains combined for a head-spinning 949 horsepower and 663 pounds-feet of torque, propelling the LaFerrari to 100 km/ h from a standstill in as little as 2. 4 seconds.
Ferrari’s in-house designer Flavio Manzoni’s sleek coachwork was beautifully low slung and eschewed the brutal styling of the preceding Enzo. “Active” aerodynamic elements, including a variable rear spoiler and “smart” front and rear undercarriage panels, deployed automatically to provide greater downforce for enhanced grip and composure at any speed. Massive cross-drilled, vented Brembo carbon-ceramic disc brakes and Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres kept the LaFerrari well-grounded.
LaFerrari production concluded in January 2016 at 499 stated examples, lending the model the exclusivity expected of a top-shelf hypercar from Maranello. All were allocated to preferred clients before the first example was even completed.
The 2014 LaFerrari presented here is finished in the quintessential Ferrari colour of Rosso Corsa, with black wheels and yellow brake callipers offsetting the vivid body colour. The company’s mastery of high-tech materials and technology is on full display in the cabin, with exposed carbon fibre throughout and black Alcantara upholstery with red contrast stitching and red seatbelts to complement the exterior.
Well maintained with its most recent service completed in July 2025, and showing only 3, 701 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, this LaFerrari presents an exceptional opportunity for the Ferrari enthusiast and collector to own one of the most consequential and sought-after cars of the modern era.
