There are Defenders and then there are Defenders! This is the definition of a cool modern Defender, this is a last of the line 2015 Land Rover Defender 110XS Landmark Edition, further tweaked by SMC to their Overland Specification! Having covered 90k Miles, finished in Corris Grey with Black Leather interior this is the only Defender you will need to own!
More than three decades after its introduction - at which point it was simply referred to as the Land Rover 90 or 110, depending on the choice of wheelbase - production of the original iteration of the Land Rover Defender ceased in January 2016. A combination of ever stricter crash and emissions regulations, combined with an ageing platform and increasingly outdated ergonomics, meant that the familiar “two box” shape would be phased out, to be replaced by a new shape Defender from 2019 onwards.
The final end-of-line cars were, appropriately, designated “Landmark” editions and featured a significantly more luxurious interior than had hitherto been seen on any Land Rover. The trusty 2. 2-litre DT224 diesel engine was retained, with power being transmitted via a six-speed manual gearbox and a permanent four-wheel drive system. However, the full leather - and, in the case of both driver and passenger, heated - seats were a far cry from the original 1982 cars, as was the air conditioning and CD Radio with Bluetooth and MP3 sound system.
A handful of Landmark 110s were further improved by SMC Automotive in Chester, of which this is one such example. Sold as new with delivery mileage in January 2016 Significant mechanical modifications included the fitment of LED Headlights, sidelights and Indicators, Leather Dash with White Stich, Momo Leather Steering Wheel, 175bhp Remap, Privacy Glass, Black Steering Guard, Gloss Black Mirrors, NAS Rear Step, Ultimate DRL Bumper, Roof Rack, 18" Nemesis Alloys with Chunky BF Goodrich Tyres! Whilst some standard Landmark details - such as gloss black finish to the headlight fascias and front grille - were retained, there were a plethora of other minor external changes.
Our car is finished in Corris Grey with Black Roof, and Black Leather Interior, she has covered 90k Miles, there have only been 3 owners and the previous owner of 8 years is a good friend of ours. We have all the original book packs and invoices for the service history, the original purchase invoice is on file at just over £50, 000 in 2016! the car has an MOT until November 2026 and was fully serviced last year costing over £1k so she is ready to go! This is the best looking defender we have seen and I am sure you will agree!
