Description
Some cars are more than machines – they tell a story. This Alpine A110 Berlinette began its life in January 1973 at FASA in Valladolid, Spain, as chassis BA 0337. After years on Spanish roads and later in Germany, the car was worn out, its glory days long past. That was until the Dutch engineer and Alpine enthusiast Pim de Jonghe decided to bring it back to life. It became a nut-and-bolt restoration, a project filled with passion in which craftsmanship, authenticity and clever technical enhancements came together. The chassis was rebuilt by Alpine legend Theo van Bree, the fibreglass bodywork was done in the Netherlands, and the engine received a full rebuild by Dinand Griemelink, a specialist in Alpine race engines. Over the years Pim carefully sourced original parts from Spain, France, Germany and Belgium – nothing was left to chance. The result is a Berlinette that feels like new, yet still breathes the soul and spirit of the seventies. Originally equipped with the 1289cc V85, this example now runs with the more powerful Renault 5 Alpine 1400 engine, good for 120 bhp and fitted with a Weber carburettor. Practical upgrades such as an ethanol-resistant fuel tank, modern front-mounted cooling and a baffled oil sump make the car reliable for rallies or spirited drives. With Renault 16 TX brakes, Koni suspension and a close-ratio five-speed gearbox, it’s ready for the Eifel Rallye, Tulpenrallye or a weekend of winding roads. Painted in the iconic Blue Cadet RM, this “Blue Devil Project” is more than a restoration – it is the rebirth of a legend. A car built with passion, engineered for durability and tuned for performance at Speedcentre near Utrecht. Step inside, turn the key and the car immediately feels light, lively and full of character. Now part of the Prengershof Collection, the car is being offered for sale with a heavy heart. The collection has simply grown too large. The asking price is €75, 000, but for a true enthusiast the future of this Berlinette matters more than the last euro. A unique opportunity to own a reborn Alpine A110 Berlinette – one of the most iconic rally cars of all time, ready to write its next chapter.
