Black hood, hood cover and tonneau cover. This fabulous Bentley Speed 8 Special was built by the renowned company of Racing Green Engineering (RGE) in Wales, UK. The Bentley is based on a fully restored and rebuilt 1948 Bentley MK VI chassis fitted with a fully rebuilt B81 6500 cc eight cylinder in-line engine. The build was completed in 2012. The aluminium bodywork was masterfully hand-built by the skilled RGE craftsmen to the highest possible standards of perfection. The Vanden Plas type open tourer bodywork (as used on Le Mans!) is built to the Weyman ‘flexible body’ principle and clad with fabric. This body type is sound dampening, rattle free and completely silent. The combination of the rugged and reliable post war Bentley MK VI chassis with fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox, hydraulic drum brakes around, the powerful 6. 5 Litre engine, the build to high modern quality standards, and Le Mans style pre-war design make that this Bentley Speed 8 offers the best of both worlds.
