Description
Lincoln’s Continental Mark IV was based on Ford Thunderbird and produced by Ford Motor Company from 1972 to 1976. A styling statement, it featured a short windshield over a long straight hoodline, covered headlamps bilateral to a vertically louvered grille, ‘opera’ type rear side windows, a vinyl-trimmed roof and a Continental rear mid-mounted tyre. Its massive 7. 5 lt V8 output would be transmitted to the rear wheels via Ford’s C6 silky smooth 3-speed automatic gearbox. Towards the end of production it came under the watchful eye of several fashion houses whose stylistic input created the Continental Designer Series.
The Coupe offered was produced in late 1972 in Tan with Brown vinyl roof and Dark Tobacco leather interior with Kashmir Walnut Woodgrain Matina inserts. In 2022 it was sourced in Holland for its preserved authentic unrestored condition to become part of a private Athens-based US classics collection. The price is open to offers.
