1996 FERRARI 456 GT MANUAL RHD - ONLY 53, 000 MILES

Rare right hand drive manual..

The 1996 Ferrari 456 GT is a high-performance 2+2 grand tourer that marked a significant return to the front-engined V12 layout for Ferrari, succeeding the boxier 412 model.

It is often described as an 'understated gentleman’s express' designed for long-distance travel in luxury while still offering supercar levels of performance.

The 456 GT is powered by a front-mounted 5. 5-litre (5, 474 cc) 65° V12 engine with 436–442 hp at 6, 250 rpm and 398–405 lb-ft torque at 4, 500 rpm.

0–100 km/ h (62 mph) in 5. 2 seconds with a top speed of186–193 mph (300–310 km/ h).

This GT has a 6-speed manual gearbox with a classic open-gate shifter, the last Ferrari 2+2 to do so, its successor, the 612 being fitted with an automatic gearbox with 'flappy paddle' override.

Weighing approximately 1, 690–1, 770 kg (3, 726–3, 902 lbs) the dimensions are 4, 730 mm (Length) x 1, 920 mm (Width) x 1, 300 mm (Height).

The 456 features a steel spaceframe chassis, independent suspension with three adjustable damper settings, and ventilated disc brakes with ABS together with pop-up headlights- the last Ferrari model to do so.

Designed by Pininfarina and, in the vendor's opinion, one of the most elegant latter-day Ferraris, the design took inspiration from the classic 1960s shapes and the 365 GTB/ 4 Daytona whilst, remarkably, incorporating two rear sets that can accommodate full-sized adults.

Only 3, 289 units of the original 456 series were produced between 1992 and 2003 of which 112 are thought to be currently in the UK. Figures for how many are manual cars are unknown.

This vehicle cost in the region of £146, 000 when new.

Supplied in Blu Le Mans Metallic with burgundy leather interior.

Having been in the ownership of one family for the last 14 years.

It benefits from a comprehensive service history at the following intervals:

5, 989 miles 24/ 2/ 97

10, 674 miles 5/ 3/ 98

14, 552 miles 19/ 8/ 98

22, 242 miles 4/ 1/ 00

28, 307 miles 12/ 9/ 01

30, 773 miles 30/ 09/ 03

33, 677 miles 8/ 4/ 05

37, 329 miles 3/ 6/ 08

49, 792 miles 22/ 03/ 17 (Omega Motorsport)

51, 445 miles 10/ 10/ 18 (Omega Motorsport)

52, 821 miles 26/ 05/ 21 (Omega Motorsport)

53, 199 miles 04. 06. 25 (Rardley Motors)

New clutch fitted 04/ 09/ 23 at 53, 000 miles (Mentmore Historics)

The mileage currently shows as 53, 800.

This vehicle has had a cambelt change at the following intervals:

18, 240 miles (1999)

30, 773 miles (2003)

41, 280 miles (2011)

49, 792 miles (2017)

52, 281 miles (2021)

53, 199 miles (2025)

It is worth of course, noting that the cambelt replacement is NOT 'engine out' for this model!

This handsome grand tourer presents very well throughout and is certainly a stand-out colourway given the beautiful metallic blue juxtaposed with the red leather interior.

Benefiting from an excellent history file and having its original tool kit, this is a fine example of the marque - having been fastidiously looked after throughout its life.

The drivers and passenger door windows will both need some re-seating as to be expected. They rise and fall as they should however there is the usual small gap at the rear of the window which can be adjusted to seat properly.

When the 456 was launched, a number of journalists were of the opinion that the exhaust note was rather too quiet and restrained for a Ferrari. This is not a criticism that can be levelled at M5NNC however as it has been fitted with a Tubi exhaust system, ensuring that you get the full aural experience of the Ferrari V12 engine!

Offered at a competitive estimate of just £39, 000-£45, 000 - with just 53, 800 miles, this beautiful manual 456GT would make a useable and highly desirable long-distance and could represent a fine investment in today's market.

Please note that the private plate currently on the vehicle is being retained and is therefore not included in the sale of the vehicle.

Please note that Lot 3 is a full set of spare wheels and tyres that would fit this vehicle.

Please note that Lot 4 is an unused Ferrari leather Schedoni 3-piece luggage set specifically produced for the 456GT.

This vehicle is located near Tring, Hertfordshire from where it will need to be collected.
