The model presented here is a June 2001 Corvette C5 Targa in its original colour “Black” (code U 8555) (Matching number).
It is currently in good presentation condition with a uniform finish and excellent shine.
After a professional polish performed with a orbital polisher by our workshop, we noted a few small scattered scratches and a scuff mark on the passenger side mirror.
The bumpers are perfectly aligned and in very good condition, with no cracks or breaks.
We noted a small varnish defect around the front bumper logo.
The Targa roof is in very good condition, with no impact marks or cracks.
Its installation is easy and its sealing remains adequate.
The windscreen tinted gradient in “Blue” as well as the tinted side glasses in “Green” are in perfect condition.
The rear window tinted is also in excellent condition.
The retractable headlights are fully functional and opening occurs without delay or unusual noises.
The 4 17’’ front and 18’’ rear chrome wheels are in good condition despite light oxidation and some minor scuff marks on the rims.
The Falken tyres show 30% wear at the front and at the rear.
This unit has retained its puncture kit.
Among the noteworthy exterior features and options on this model, we note: the windscreen gradient in “Blue” and the original 17’’ chrome wheels.
Interior:
The original interior, though of mid-range quality, is presented in good condition.
The perforated leather upholstery in colour “Light grey” with electric adjustment is in good condition despite a very slight sagging of the outer bolster of the driver's seat and a small stitching issue on the piping.
The dashboard in black simulated leather is in excellent condition with no scratches, discolouration, deformation, or other defects.
The door panels in black simulated leather as well as the centre console are also in good condition.
We note the absence of a small cover on the driver's door pull
All instrumentation is fully functional.
The original Delco K7 radio is fully functional, unlike the CD charger.
The four-spoke leather steering wheel is in good condition.
The leather gear knob shows signs of wear.
Central locking is no longer functional.
The Grey carpets are protected with custom floor mats.
Among the interior features and major options present on this model, we note: air conditioning, cruise control, electric seats, Delco K7 radio, and head-up display.
Chassis:
Lifting onto a ramp confirms a healthy body and chassis, with no visible accident damage or apparent structural corrosion.
The fundamentals – floor panels, longitudinals, crossmembers, sills and wheel arches – are in good condition.
Usage reserve: as a rule we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond their good visual and functional state validated on road test and on the ramp.
During the dynamic test, we detected no abnormal noises from the body or running gear (ball joints, bushings...)
Braking is balanced and aligned, with efficiency corresponding to period standards.
Front brake discs show 30% wear and rear 50% wear.
Front and rear brake pads show 40% wear.
A roadworthy check carried out by our workshop prior to delivery will confirm proper operation of the entire system.
Engine / Transmission:
The mechanics operate flawlessly.
Compression tests performed in our workshop and the road test confirm an engine in excellent health.
The V8 starts immediately, without smoke or suspicious noises, and idle is stable, as confirmed by the 360° video with the engine running, available at the start of the slideshow.
Oil pressure hot is 8 bar at 800 rpm.
Once at temperature, the engine reaches its revs smoothly without hesitation or overheating.
The water pump and thermostat were replaced with new units in 2024 (invoice available).
The V8 soundtrack is enhanced by the presence of two stainless steel silencers.
The automatic gearbox shifts all four gears in accordance with the original, with no delay or excessive slipping.
This example is equipped with configurable drive modes: Tour / Sport / Perf.
As is often the case with older models, engine/ transmission seals remain average.
