Exterior:
The model presented here is a April 1991 Corvette C4 Cabriolet in its original colour “Bright Red WA 8774” (matching colour).
This one is in good presentation condition, showing a uniform shade and excellent gloss.
After a professional polish performed with an orbital polisher by our workshop, we noted a few minor paint defects and small cracks on the right side of the bonnet and a small scratch on the left side (1 cm).
The driver’s door moulding has a small rubbing mark on its rear part and the left rear wing shows a slight misalignment as well as some minor scratches.
The exterior wind deflector on the driver’s door has a small snag.
The front and rear bumpers are perfectly aligned and in very good condition, with no cracks or breaks.
The front bumper shows a barely visible paint chip on its bottom left area and the rear bumper has a few chips from parking.
The right front indicator and left rear indicator also show a small crack.
The manual mohair roof in “Black” is in good condition and folds into place easily.
The rear mica in PVC appears slightly micro-scratched.
The original fixed-position headlights operate perfectly and show no cracks or leaks.
The four 17-inch aluminium wheels are in excellent condition despite light rubbing marks.
They are fitted with four MICHELIN Pilot Sport tyres with wear under 10% at the front and rear.
Interior:
The interior remains in its original strict configuration and presents well despite the generally modest materials.
Leather upholstery in “Black 193” is in good original condition.
Electricly adjustable sport seats are in good overall presentation. Only the electric adjustment for the passenger seat is no longer functional.
The left bolster of the driver’s seat and the door trim handle show signs of wear.
Door panels in PVC show no cracks or breaks.
The dashboard and its cap are in very good condition, with no discolouration, deformation, or cracks.
All onboard instruments are fully functional along with comfort equipment, except for the older air conditioning (R12 gas not available).
The four-spoke sport steering wheel in leather, and the gear lever knob show uniform patina.
This car is equipped with a fully functional engine compartment kill switch.
The PIONEER radio is also fully operational.
Original carpets in “Black” are in good condition.
The two storage compartments under the boot floor function perfectly.
Among the interior equipment and notable options, we note: original four-spoke leather sport steering wheel, electrically operated windows and mirrors, engine kill switch, and PIONEER radio.
Chassis:
Raising the car confirms a solid shell, with no visible accident damage or apparent structural corrosion.
The basics – floors, sills, underbody, and wheel arches – are in very good original condition.
Operational margin: as a rule we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond their good visual and functional condition verified on road and on the hoist.
During the dynamic test, we detected no abnormal rattles from the body or suspension components (joints, bushings, etc.).
Braking is aligned, steady and progressive, with no vibrations or unusual noises.
Front brake discs show 20% wear and pads 40% wear.
Rear discs show 10% wear and pads 10% wear.
A roadworthiness check performed by our workshop prior to delivery will confirm all systems are functioning.
In terms of chassis equipment and options, we note: FE1 comfort suspension, GM3 3. 45 axle, and ABS anti-lock braking system (JL9).
Engine / Transmission:
The mechanics operate perfectly.
A road test conducted by our workshop confirms a healthy V8.
The engine starts promptly, with no smoke or abnormal noises, as confirmed by the 360° video of the running engine available at the start of the slideshow.
Idle is steady and cold oil pressure reads 34 psi at 600 rpm.
In motion, the engine pulls smoothly with no jerks or overheating.
The water pump was replaced in 2023 (invoice €961).
The V8’s throaty soundtrack is enhanced by the two double-outlet stainless silencers.
The six gears of the mechanical ZF box shift easily with no snags in the synchros.
Clutch grip is good.
This example is fitted with an engine bay cut-off switch.
As with many older motors, the engine/ gearbox/ axle seals are only average.
