Presenting this stunning Ford Mustang Mk1! A full ground up restoration/ re-build, cherry picking the best parts to build the ultimate Mustang! The shell was chosen for its immaculately condition, receiving a complete bare metal respray in Highland Green in 2013. The car has been brought up to spec with a 5 speed manual gearbox and brand new 5 litre Ford crate engine!
The Ford Mustang II concept first appeared in the public eye in 1963 in Watkins Glen, a day before the 1963 United States Grand Prix. The Mustang was designed with affordability in mind, with the first buyer being a 22 year old elementary school teacher from Park Ridge, Illinois. The Mustang shared its chassis, suspension, and drivetrain with the Ford Falcon. The first generation was a huge success, with over one million sold within the first 18 months. The car is an American icon, synonymous with America’s automotive landscape and admired for its style and performance.
This example started life as a straight 6 car with a 3 speed manual. The car had lived a life in America and had completed around 68, 000 miles before it was then cherrypicked for its shell to be restored/ rebuilt into the ultimate Mk1 Mustang. The car was exported to Dubai to be rebuilt. The car was taken back to bare metal and received a full and well documented rebuild. In 2016 its current owner imported the car into the UK, where the car received regular servicing to ensure it has been kept in the best condition. The car came to us in late 2025 receiving a new clutch and fuel tank.
Classic Mustangs offer an unique experience with V8 power wrapped in 1960’s American style, they offer a very visceral driving experience, being designed to fly down highways at great speed and comfort. With a lovely mixture of chrome and vinyl leather and with soft suspension, they are a very comfortable place to be. The big V8 performance, the car has a unique sense of theatre and this example with its uprated 5 litre engine delivers the next level of experience.
The condition of the car is excellent, in this stunning shade of Highland Green being a tribute to Steve Mcqueen’s Bullet GT fastback. In really excellent condition only featuring a few minor paint marks as can be expected for a car of this age. The interior is in excellent condition being renewed in 2013 it displays as new. The chrome trim is in really good condition and contrasts beautifully against the dark interior. The car was cherry picked with the best parts from Mustang, and the car’s features with its engine bay looks excellent with a mixture of period parts and more modern performance parts having been completely overhauled in 2013.
The car features double wishbone front suspension with adjustable TCP control arm and traditional leaf springs and dampers at the rear. This car retains its original set up with ABS single piston calipers. The car has power assisted steering. The wheels are American racing alloys. Tyres are Michelin Energy Saver X Green dated to 2020 in really great condition.
The car comes with a spare wheel, 3 boxes of spare parts, an extinguisher and a huge box of invoices and parts information.
