The first encounter with this Mustang plays out roughly like meeting a dog owner with a fighting dog in the park during a stroll. Despite the insistence that “it’s completely harmless and just wants to play,” the tension won’t ease. At the latest once the ignition key is turned, it becomes clear that the tension won’t fade either. The audible backdrop resembles the rumble of an earthquake or the startup of a fighter jet, and seems entirely capable of bringing structures down. AMG drivers go wide-eyed and quarrelsome neighbours have definitely nothing to oppose this. Besides that, you also know from home, even without a prior call, when the office will be leaving and will arrive for dinner. The power tugging at the rear wheels requires an experienced hand, for it’s no accident that Ford bears the Mustang name, after the horse known for throwing off bad riders swiftly.

According to the attached CARFAX report there are no incidents in the USA regarding theft, scrapping, or accidents. Only one damage event in 07/ 2022 in Germany: a hail damage (photographic report available). Annoying (at first) and pleasing at the same time, because the paintwork was previously so “meh” and is now perfect! In Germany, repaired by a master body shop (most dents could be pushed out), the Mustang was stripped and completely repainted at the price of EUR 9, 581. 20. In 2023, at BOSCH service, all cables and electrical components were checked, and replaced, removed, or repaired as needed: EUR 2, 266. 64. In May 2024 the engine was tackled. All new: camshaft kit, Edelbrock Performer Plus, pushrods, water pump, thermostat, rear seal, crankshaft, Edelbrock carb etc., … again four figures. Service will be renewed before delivery, TÜV also on request.
The ’66 Mustang of the first generation, identifiable by the Mustang emblem in the radiator grille, without the horizontal chrome bars and the chrome inserts on the bluffing air scoops at the rear arch. This model received an upgrade during its life in the form of a 302 Windsor V8 Small-Block with 4, 736 cc and 165 kW/ 225 PS. In the same year the model left the factory with seat belts, a padded instrument panel, a hazard warning system and instead of the horizontal tachometer, round instruments were used.
