The G87 BMW M2, launched in 2023, is widely regarded as the spiritual successor to the E46 M3 — a compact, rear-wheel-drive, twin-turbocharged inline-six coupé built around driver engagement above all else. Producing 460PS from BMW M's S58 3. 0-litre engine, with an electronically controlled M Sport differential, M Compound brakes and the Adaptive M chassis, the G87 is the smallest and most focused M car in the current line-up. With BMW's confirmed move to electrification, this generation is widely expected to be the last petrol M2 — a reality that is now beginning to inform second-hand values.
This is a genuine BMW Dealer Launch Car, originally registered to Vertu BMW York on 17th June 2023 and used by the dealership to mark the launch of the G87, before being sold to its first private custodian who has retained the car since. Specified in the hero launch colour of M Zandvoort Blue (£595) over Black Vernasca Leather with blue contrast stitching, and uplifted from new by BMW M's £8, 000 Performance Carbon Pack, this is the optimum specification combination of colour, trim, carbon and provenance in a single car.
The factory M Performance Carbon Pack — fitted from new at considerable cost — comprises the carbon front splitter, carbon side skirts, carbon mirror caps, carbon rear diffuser and the carbon rear wing, together with M Performance carbon interior accents. The effect is transformative: the M2 in this configuration carries the visual presence of a homologation special, but in factory-optioned form rather than aftermarket. The car carries a fully documented BMW main dealer service history from new. Pre-Delivery Inspection was completed by Vertu BMW York on 3rd June 2023 at 25 miles. The running-in service was carried out by Vertu BMW York on 24th October 2023 at 1, 056 miles. The first scheduled service was completed by Sytner BMW Nottingham on 7th November 2024 at 18, 688 miles. The second scheduled service followed at Sytner BMW Nottingham on 9th January 2026 at 37, 941 miles. Four BMW main dealer stamps in under three years from new — a service record that is increasingly rare on a used M car at this price point.
Condition
Mileage stands at 41, 840 — the work of a single enthusiast keeper who has clearly used the car as BMW M intended, while never deviating from a strict main-dealer maintenance regime.
