Lot 30
c. 1970 Suzuki 98cc A100
Registration no. not registered
Frame no. 17918
Engine no. 17829
Suzuki's expansion throughout the 1960s was founded on a range of two-stroke ultra-lightweights, which although of small capacity offered a useful performance increase over the ubiquitous 50cc 'step-thru' moped. Following on from the successful S10 and B100, the 98cc A100 was an entirely new model, introduced for 1967, that would remain in production until 1980. The A100 featured an inclined cylinder and disc valve induction, as well as Suzuki's recently introduced 'CCI' pumped lubrication system. Two sports versions, the ACC100 and ASS100, were built in fewer numbers and differed only in the type of exhaust system fitted: upswept on the left in the former's case; low down on the right in the latter's.
Our private vendor bought this beautiful little Suzuki from an antique dealer in Fochabers, Scotland around five years ago. A believed older restoration that has since mellowed, the Suzuki came from an important local private collection. No other history is known. The odometer reading is 18, 923 miles (at the time of cataloguing/ photography).
Following a period of inactivity, this motorcycle will require recommissioning and/ or restoration to a greater or lesser extent and thus is sold strictly as viewed (the engine turns over). Prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves with regard to this motorcycle's history, originality, authenticity, mechanical condition and completeness (or otherwise) prior to bidding. There are no documents with this Lot.
£1, 500 - 2, 000
All lots are sold ‘as is/ where is’ and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. Visit the Bonhams Motorcycles website for all pertinent auction information.
