Description
A charming and highly original-looking 1960 Land Rover Series II Short Wheelbase (88") presented in very good condition throughout.
This Series II was restored some years ago and continues to present exceptionally well, with good paintwork, a tidy appearance and plenty of period character. Mechanically, the vehicle is in good condition and offers the authentic driving experience for which early Land Rovers are renowned.
Powered by a period-correct Land Rover petrol engine, this SWB model retains the simple, robust engineering that made the Series II famous around the world. While there is no documentation confirming the engine is original to the vehicle, the engine number appears consistent with the period.
Introduced in 1958, the Land Rover Series II is widely regarded as the model that established Land Rover as a global icon. Its distinctive styling, legendary off-road capability and rugged dependability made it a favourite of farmers, explorers, military operators and adventurers alike.
Today, good Series II examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly attractive Short Wheelbase models such as this.
