The second generation Ducati 900SS (1991-97) is considered by many enthusiasts to be one of Ducati's defining air-cooled sports bikes. It isn't the fastest motorcycle by modern standards, but it delivers a raw, mechanical riding experience that's become increasingly desirable
Powered by Ducati's legendary 904 cc air-cooled 90° L-twin engine with belt-driven desmodromic valves. It produces around 80–84 hp, but the numbers don't tell the whole story. The bike is loved for its strong mid-range torque, the unmistakable Ducati exhaust note, a light, narrow chassis and a direct, analogue handling with no rider aids or electronics
The ultimate Gen-2 900SS was undoubtedly the limited-edition, ultra-lightweight Superlight (SL) available from 1992-96
This 1998 900SS has been cleverly re-imagined as a 900 Superlight by Ducati London who have fully recommissioned the bike with new belts and a full service
Reported as running and riding well, it's UK-registered on a current V5C
