We are delighted to offer for sale an iconic L316 Defender owned by William and Amy Heynes of William Heynes Ltd and Amy Shore Photography.
Together, they have covered the last 40, 000 miles in this particularly handsome example and invested heavily in ensuring it is fit for purpose, with over £15, 000 spent in the last two years alone.
Presented in Galway Green and first registered on the 31st of March 2010, it combines the charm, presence, and timeless silhouette of the L316 model, but with a far more liveable overall package.
Notably, a more refined engine, a 6 speed gearbox, air conditioning, heated Land Rover SVO custom seats, electric windows, and folding, front facing rear seats. This is absolutely an enjoyable, practical and capable daily vehicle.
As one would expect with a car that has had regular and consistent use, plus has benefitted from forward thinking, preventative maintenance by a couple who restore the world’s finest racing and road going Jaguars, it drives beautifully.
The lightness of the clutch and steering in particular will astound anyone who, like myself, has more familiarity with Defenders of the 90’s and 00’s. And the extra gear, 6th, makes motorway use supremely comfortable for a vehicle with such incredible off road credentials.
With full, comprehensive service history and thousands and thousands of pounds spent, it has had an enormous array of mechanical works completed, some of which are detailed below. It belies its 173, 000 miles, and is a proven and dependable example.

Condition:
With an enormous amount of money spent over its 16 year life, particularly over the last few years, the mechanical credentials are incredibly strong and reassuring.
The interior is in superb condition even for a vehicle with half or indeed a quarter of this mileage.
The undercarriage has benefited from thorough preventative care with the entire chassis having been sanded and protected in October 2024, with annual inspections since.
The bodywork is straight. For the most fastidious custodians, there are small imperfections in the paintwork in some areas with minor signs of use commensurate with both its 16 years and its mileage. This could receive attention as desired either now or indeed in the future, however there is no need to do so.
Similarly, if desired, the roof could be resprayed to the body colour.
