Description
The Senna GTR is the version of the Senna McLaren could build without road homologation requirements or motorsport regulations. No traffic laws, no noise limits, no ground clearance minimums. The 4. 0 litre twin-turbo V8 produces 825 ps and 800 Nm through a seven-speed DCT. Dry weight is 1, 188 kg. The aerodynamics generate 1, 000 kg of downforce at 250 km/ h, 200 kg more than the road car, achieved through a new front splitter with vortex generators as used on Formula 1 cars, a revised diffuser and an active rear wing that acts as an air brake under deceleration.
The Senna GTR drives with surprising accessibility for what it is: easier than the P1 GTR, more stable at the rear, with a pure race car character. McLaren built 75 examples. Every one was sold before the production car had been publicly shown.
Fun fact: the Öhlins dampers are four-way adjustable and fully mechanical, without the electronic RaceActive Chassis Control system of the road car. McLaren deliberately chose an analogue suspension setup so owners can tune the settings themselves.
