Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at Kempton Park 2026 on Saturday the 18th of July, Kempton Park Racecourse, TW16 5AE.
Produced between 1981 and 1984 the TT2 was built to contest the Formula 2 World Championship and was the first Ducati race bike to feature a trellis frame
Powered by a 597cc V-Twin Pantah engine with desmodromic valves, it was lightweight and powerful.
Designed by Fabio Taglioni, the frame was produced by legendary race frame makers Verlicchi, located not far from the Ducati factory in Bologna
Dominating the series, it took four consecutive F2 World titles with British rider, Tony Rutter, and two Italian championships, the first in 1981 with Massimo Broccoli and the second in 1982 with Walter Cussigh
The TT2 played a crucial role in Ducati's racing history and economic recovery during the early 1980s, setting the stage for future trellis-framed road models that were to follow
This TT2 was said to have been assembled by Lenci Racing in Rome for a privateer racer using a genuine Verlicchi frame
It features a race spec engine with a dry clutch, 41mm Dellorto carbs, adjustable front forks and Campagnolo wheels
Having been on display in a private Collection for some years, it would need recommissioning before returning to the track but it remains in good order and in running condition
Great addition to any serious Ducati collection
Not road registered
