Overview
The headline figures speak for themselves. 345bhp and 400Nm of torque giving a 0-62mph sprint of 4. 8 seconds and a top speed of 170 mph, all with a combined fuel economy, from the Toyota-sourced V6, of a very respectable 27. 7mpg.
But it’s the way that the Evora S delivers its power that’s so impressive. A wide spread of torque from 2000rpm right to the 7200rpm redline ensures relentless acceleration and instant throttle response.
It sounds fantastic too with the supercharger whining and the spectacular soundtrack coming from the active exhaust. Whilst perfectly serene when gently cruising a quick push of the sports button allows a set of valves on the exhaust to open above 4, 700rpm increasing the volume of the supercharged V6 to a simply wonderful deep howl.
The Evora S also received a host of other upgrades over the standard car with the front and rear suspension bushes being stiffened by 10 per cent, but despite this the S still rides beautifully, meaning the Evora can be used as a fantastic long distance companion.
Steering weight was also increased marginally, with the wheel brimming with feedback, while the uprated brakes provide real stopping power
Other tweaks over the standard car include a more-prominent rear diffuser, – 20-inch at the rear, 19-inch at the front alloy wheels and a sport button, which sharpens throttle response and loosens the traction control.
