What if, today in 2026, you could step into a time machine and travel 50 years back to pick up a brand-new Silver Shadow there?
Here we offer you a car that’s very close to matching that time-travel scenario. Because our Rolls-Royce is in an original condition—something you’ll hardly ever see twice. Exactly like these luxury saloons looked back then: glossy paint, immaculate chrome, and dark, glowing walnut veneer.
Its first owner—a successful Scottish businessman and motorcycle dealer, as well as a former Trial champion—chose the extremely stylish colour Caribbean Blue with two gold pin stripes in 1976. Even 50 years later, it still has the “wow” factor when it catches the sky.
It appears he only used the car briefly in everyday life, then put it away properly and, later on, moved it along the long driveway under suitable weather conditions to prevent any standing-related damage.
In 2020, the Silver Shadow made its way to Germany. Here it was recommissioned by a specialist with an eye on originality, for a total of €7, 500—there is supporting documentation to prove it.
The current, and therefore second, owner has since purchased new tyres and wheels to preserve the 50-year-old Avon Turbosteel original tyres and their wheels. These are included with the vehicle.
Along with the Blaupunkt “Frankfurt” stereo radio, a quadraphonic Pioneer sound playback unit has also been fitted—delivering a sound that was genuinely impressive for the era.
The usual Rolls-Royce paperwork, such as the handbook, is of course still present. But so is the order form for this car from March 1976, as well as the factory invoice from Crewe to the dealer in Edinburgh from May 1976.
What else from 1976 is still with the car? The “Heron” decals on the front and rear windows, three Yale spare keys still in the manufacturing pouch, the registration plates impressed by the supplying company with the original Edinburgh number, a factory-applied anti-freeze label, and the completed factory inspection certificate. The original tool tray, with some tools still wrapped in greaseproof paper, is also included. The underside of the car is virtually unchanged from when it was delivered from the factory.
Needless to say, this Rolls-Royce is matching numbers in every respect.
