Introduced in 1971, the Rover 3500S was the performance flagship of the P6 range offering impressive pace and refinement for its era
Powered by the Buick-derived 3, 528cc V8 producing 161bhp, paired with a manual gearbox denoted by the ‘S’ for Syncromesh, capable of 0-60mph in nine seconds and a top speed of 123mph
Standard specification included a matt black grille, improved post-1970 interior trim and a factory-fitted Vinyl roof, features which distinguished the later models from earlier P6 variants
According to its BMIH Trust Certificate, this example was built on 18/ 09/ 1975, finished in Paprika with a Black Vinyl roof, optioned with factory power steering, dispatched to Julians Ltd. of Reading on 30/ 09/ 75 and first registered on 28/ 01/ 1976
Subject to a comprehensive £20, 000 restoration by renowned Rover specialists, Kingsdown Garage, during 2015/ 2016, including a rebuilt 3. 5-litre V8 with SD1 cylinder heads and a sportier camshafts, a rebuilt LT77 five-speed manual gearbox, rebuilt differential and De Dion rear axle, together with overhauled brakes and suspension, a new radiator, an electric SU fuel pump and a Revotec electronic cooling *** has been fitted
