Description
Splendid hand-built 2014 replica of a Citroën DS Cabriolet Chapron, using DS 21 carburettor mechanicals: a manual 4-speed gearbox and power steering.
Forthwith, with extreme fidelity, it follows the original specifications used by Henri Chapron, the legendary coachbuilder who in the 1960s transformed DS saloons into elegant cabriolet versions.
This car is one of the most accurate and meticulously prepared replicas on the market, perfectly homologated as a DS cabriolet: the word “replica” does not appear on the documents. The car also retains its original 1971 registration plate, a feature of considerable historical value.
Work and conversion
The chassis has been properly reinforced to Chapron specifications, which was a necessary requirement for re-registration and testing.
During the conversion, the following were completely rebuilt:
mechanical components,
hydraulic system,
interior,
retractable hood/ soft top,
bringing the car to an as-new condition.
After the restoration, the DS has been used very little and always kept in a garage: absolutely no rust and no critical spots.

This isn’t simply a DS cabriolet made from a saloon:
all the typical Chapron details have been replicated with great care, including:
• Dedicated doors, with specific shape and structure
• Extended rear bonnet with Chapron profile
• Original Chapron badges

• Single jack lifting point (instead of the two on the saloon)
