It is probably the most famous Volkswagen ever produced by the German brand: the Volkswagen Beetle. Since its introduction in 1937, more than 20 million have been produced, making it the most successful car in automotive history. This is due not only to the attractive appearance of this compact Volkswagen (with plenty of interior space), but certainly also to its solid build quality. The simple chassis construction ensures that the Volkswagen Beetle is also ideally suited for use in kit cars or replicas. In 1949, coachbuilder Karmann began production of a four-seater Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet.
This stunning Volkswagen 1302 Beetle Cabriolet was produced in 1972 and has been in the Netherlands since 1978. The original color was yellow, but during a complete body-off restoration in the 1990s, the car was repainted in the beautiful color Pasadena Blue metallic. The car has been maintained with great care and love ever since. Apart from a few signs of wear, the bodywork remains in impressively beautiful condition. The paintwork still has a deep and stylish shine, and the various chrome and trim parts are also still in very good condition. This also applies to the various rubber parts and finishes. The convertible top is also still in very good condition.
The interior is still completely original and in particularly good condition. The faux leather upholstery is still in good and original condition. The seats are particularly comfortable, and the dashboard is also still in good condition with all instruments working properly. Under the hood of this beautiful and well-maintained Volkswagen lies the well-known air-cooled four-cylinder engine block. The 1285 cc engine delivers sufficient power (44 hp) for smooth and comfortable driving and is very well maintained. The car drives and steers exceptionally easily, and shifting is also very smooth. The brakes feel firm and solid. In short, this magnificent Volkswagen Beetle Convertible is a particularly friendly and comfortable driver's car. It is one of the few four-seater convertible versions that is affordable, both in terms of purchase and maintenance.
