This exceptional 1981 Suzuki Katana GSX 1100 S Yoshimura is a perfect example. Over a period of more than fifteen years, the owner, a mechanical engineer with a background in motorcycle development and motorsport, worked tirelessly to create what would become his ultimate Yoshimura Katana. Inspired by the legendary AMA Yoshimura race bikes ridden by Wes Cooley and Dave Aldana, this project was built with one philosophy in mind: never compromise and always choose the very best components available.
The owner describes himself as a perfectionist, and that is evident throughout the entire motorcycle. Three different front-end and suspension configurations were developed before the ideal riding stance and steering geometry were achieved. Genuine Yoshimura frame reinforcements were also incorporated to ensure the machine met the highest standards, both technically and visually
The engine was assembled using only premium components, including a Falicon-built and balanced crankshaft, JE forged pistons, Yoshimura valves, and Kibblewhite valve springs. Many parts were sourced from renowned specialists such as Dynoman, Orient Express, APE, and Dyna S. The motorcycle is further enhanced by rare Yoshimura details, billet aluminium components, and high-end Öhlins suspension.[ ](- details above)
