Description
• Exceptionally rare Indian 101 from 1929 • 750 cc V-twin engine with authentic configuration • High-quality restoration and overhaul without compromise • Fitted with original 1929 carburettor (extremely rare) • Original Corbin speedometer with drive • Original 1929-specific exhaust • Dutch registration • From a private collection The Indian 101 is widely regarded as one of the finest motorcycles ever produced by Indian. Manufactured between 1928 and 1931, it stands out thanks to an improved chassis, a lower riding position and excellent handling characteristics. With its longer and more rigid frame, combined with superior engine mounting, it delivers a riding experience ahead of its time. The 1929 version benefits from several significant improvements over earlier years, including a new oil pump, a centrally-mounted electric headlight with distinctive Indian design, reinforced handlebars and an improved rear brake. These enhancements make this version particularly interesting from both a technical and historical perspective. This example is distinguished by the presence of numerous rare original parts, notably the original 1929 carburettor, which is extremely difficult to find, as well as an original Corbin speedometer with its drive mechanism. The exhaust is also a component specific to 1929, which significantly increases its collector value. This motorcycle comes from a private collection and has been restored and overhauled with meticulous care, without any compromise on quality. Its overall condition and the presence of original components make it a highly desirable piece for pre-war motorcycle collectors and enthusiasts. 1929 Indian 101s are rarely offered for sale, and even more rarely in this condition and configuration. This makes it not only a unique machine to ride, but also a sound investment.
