History & Provenance
This car has a well-documented past on the historic motoring circuit, having taken part in numerous historic events over the years. In a memorable moment a few years ago, it even carried Lewis Hamilton during the parade lap at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
Bodywork
The car was originally sold as a rolling chassis and bodied by an outside coachbuilder rather than the factory — the bodywork is entirely in "Voll & Ruhrbeck" aluminum, with a striking crocodile-print leather interior.
The rear section was rebuilt in the 1990s. It's worth noting that the car was purchased in the post-war years with the rear already modified — a common practice at the time, as cars of this type were often converted with small-truck-style rear ends. As a result, the bodywork is not entirely original to the factory configuration, though this reflects genuine period history rather than a later alteration.
Mechanical
The car has been fully restored, with its mechanics and running gear — suspension, steering, brakes, and wheels — entirely original. It's also fitted with a period aftermarket supercharger: not a factory Mercedes component, but authentically contemporary to the 1930s.
