The Porsche 911 SC, produced between 1978 and 1983, represents one of the most fascinating periods in the history of the legendary 911 series. Although the car manufacturer was seriously considering replacing the 911 with the newly developed 928 at the time, it was the SC (‘Super Carrera’) version that became one of the cornerstones of the brand’s success. It offered the ideal combination of performance, reliability and the character of an air-cooled flat-six engine, which in the final years of production delivered up to 204 horsepower. The significance of the 911 SC is further underlined by the fact that it was in the 1983 model year that Porsche first introduced a full-fledged 911 convertible.
