Now available from RFH Classics we have this beautifully presented 1993 (K) Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (R129) finished in classic Arctic White with a contrasting Dark Blue Leather interior and matching Blue Mohair soft top. Accompanied by an exceptional service history spanning more than 30 years, this is a particularly attractive example of Mercedes-Benz's much-loved R129 SL.
Introduced in 1989, the R129 represented a significant step forward for the Mercedes-Benz SL, combining elegant Bruno Sacco styling with advanced engineering, impressive safety features and the build quality for which Mercedes-Benz was renowned during this period. Today, the R129 is increasingly appreciated as a modern classic, offering a lovely combination of traditional Mercedes luxury and effortless open-top motoring. This car presents particularly well with bright and consistent Arctic White paintwork, the correct contrasting lower body panels and a smart set of original 16-inch alloy wheels. The Dark Blue Mohair soft top was professionally replaced in 2015, and the car also retains its original factory-supplied removable hardtop, allowing it to be enjoyed throughout the year.
Inside, the Midnight Blue Leather interior remains in excellent condition, complemented by the original walnut wood trim and optional rear seats. The cabin has been particularly well preserved, with the electric seat adjustments, windows, mirrors, climate control and electrically operated soft top all working as intended.
Under the bonnet sits Mercedes-Benz's 3. 0-litre six-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. It is a combination that suits the SL particularly well, offering smooth performance and relaxed long-distance touring.
It is worth highlighting this particular SL's remarkably comprehensive service history. Originally supplied new to Mrs Goodman by Majestic Mercedes-Benz of Bournemouth, the car received its first three services at the supplying dealer before maintenance passed to Evans Mercedes-Benz of Leicester, followed by Vardy (Continental) Ltd of Cambridge between 1996 and 2002. From 2002, servicing was entrusted to Mercedes-Benz specialist Swavesey Garage, who continued to maintain the car throughout the following ownerships. When Mr Sandham purchased the SL in 2004, he retained the same specialist, and remarkably the garage continued looking after the car for subsequent owners, including its most recent registered keeper.
The original service book contains 10 Mercedes-Benz main dealer stamps and seven further independent specialist service entries. Accompanying this is an extensive collection of invoices and previous MOT certificates dating back over 30 years, all carefully arranged in one of our RFH Classics history folders. Importantly, the car has continued to receive regular attention, with its most recent service carried out by Swavesey Garage in November 2025 at 87, 100 miles, followed by the replacement of the oxygen sensors by a local Bosch specialist in January 2026. Together, these records provide excellent support for the car's recorded mileage and demonstrate the continuity of care it has received throughout its life.
For us, the attraction of this SL is not simply its lovely colour combination and condition, but the continuity of care evident throughout its life. Finding an R129 with such a well-documented maintenance history is increasingly difficult, and this is certainly an example that deserves closer inspection. This car is currently MOT tested until Apr-27 however it will be supplied with a fresh MOT, our 3-month major mechanical warranty and a vehicle history certificate confirming no outstanding finance or recorded insurance loss. We recommend the use of premium unleaded E5 fuel.
