The 1955 Cadillac Series 62 captures American automotive design from before the era of extreme tail fins. The low, elongated body is accentuated by a panoramic windscreen, a heavily chromed grille and exhaust pipes emerging from the rear bumper. For 1955, the front end was redesigned and the power output of the standard 331 CID V8 engine was increased to 250 hp. This four-door saloon is powered by a 5, 424 cm³ OHV V8 petrol engine, mated to a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The car is in a well-preserved condition with an attractive blue-and-white paintwork, which shows only minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with its age and use. Mechanically, the car is in good condition – the engine runs, the gearbox shifts, the car is roadworthy and the braking system is functional.
