2. 5 LUX Marine blue metallic, pinstripe beige interior. Sun roof, Electric windows, power steering. Front loading CD Under 79, 000 genuine miles at the mo. The average for these is far far higher!
Tax til June 08 MOT til Aug 08. I did my homework and I chose an 8 valve normally aspirated due to its reliability and cheaper maintenance.
I bought this in Brighton about six months ago from a guy, who didnt have time to use it, he was going to track it, but said it was too nice. in addition to being a Porsche Club member and enthusiast its previous owner had been to see six of these before he settled on mine. It did the journey back to Manchester effortlessly despite only having done 1500 miles in the previous year.
Under renowned independent Porsche Specialist Hartechs maintenance plan by myself which is available only after a very gruelling medical and any remedial work to bring it up to eligibility status which including belts which came in at £1053. All cylinders strong with excellent pressure, 0° variation on thrust line rolling road. 7 page report available for inspection.
New belts, for camshaft, balance shafts and power steering, new steering shaft, gold service under Hartech, also gearbox rebuild and all new carrier bearings by Barry Hart, new (this month) Dansk stainless steel exhaust. Refinished magnesium turbo wheels, new pair Bridgestone SO2 tyres to rear, Nexxens (7mm) to front.
New rear hatch seal. New heavy duty Calcium battery, Original sun roof bag. Original contrasting overmats. Extensive file of bills and servicing from names such as Chris Turner and Chapelgate. Porsche club driver owned. At some point someone has put in all new hoses, and it has the green seals to the water pump, which is good. Nice reg plate included.
Chassis and panels in really excellent order, no rust, in a very (believed to be special order) marine blue metallic, no dodgy sills or wings, and no bubbling. Pulls smoothly and quietly through every gear and the transmission Hartech did is now fantastic with none of the pinion whine associated with this model. The clutch is in healthy condition, as are the brakes.
I am completely honest, theres nothing worse than buying one of these old classics only to feel ripped off.
So, The slightly bad bits. Not great touching up to tiny area of nearside boot seam, you could do a better job! - touch up paint supplied. Two tiny tears in the drivers seat, should be very easy to fix. Passenger sill slight marking to edge (as shown). The drivers door central locking is intermittent, and needs locking with the key, also you just need to bip the accelerator on start up for 1 sec to get the voltmeter reading okay, this works every time and the alternator is fine. Minor cosmetic stuff really, on a very well preserved 20 year old car, drives like a new go kart. Great feedback and superb manouverability. Worth seeing. Please don't come to barter, I will just sell it to someone who will pay the asking price, which is more than fair.
A great introduction to Porsche with none of the gremlins, and not messed about with aftermarket mods or none period add ons. Not driven like a plank either. Over 2k spent on a very sound car, original cost to me £3500 + (another £2500 since December 2007) pamper. Selling at a great price for a lovely example, not some clunker. I doubt you'd get a better and sorted straight 944 for this price. NO TEST DRIVES WITHOUT PROOF OF VALID INSURANCE - happy to demo though.
