Camping: Original SO42 Westfalia camping equipment including opening louvre windows, Mustard vinyl rear seats with Rock n Roll double bed, clothes hanging closet and multiple storage cupboards. Original cot also present that hangs over front seats. Removable Cool box with pump tap. Addition of RARE Canterbury Pitt door cooker with twin hob and grill. 240v electric hookup. Factory Extra cost options of pop-top roof with 3 vents, plus stainless steel 3 bow roof rack. Will also come with a drive away awning.
Mechanicals: Reconditioned 1600 twinport engine, recon gearbox, all new lowered suspension with dropped spindles, straight axle and adjustable springplates. 12v, Alternator conversion, leisure battery. Fire extinguisher system in engine bay.
Restoration: California bus imported by me 4 years ago from a US Naval base. Arrived from California in a bright white and Miami blue. The original pearl white was showing through so I painstakingly scraped off the white from the top half and inside to reveal the original paint and patina underneath. The bottom 6 inches needed a few new panels including both sills, arches so these were all bought from Autocraft without doubt the best for VW panels. The bottom half was then sprayed in a beautiful period correct Turkis. The colour match taken from the OG paint VW badge I acquired for the front.
Personalised: REAL LEATHER front cab seats from Newton Commercial, Australian mesh headlight grills, Mexican blanket door cards and collaged pin-up girls on the roof of the cab. Stereo has iPod connectivity, 4 speakers and sub with amp.
Documents: I have the birth certificate from VW, original instruction manual and Westfalia SO42 brochure, also all receipts since 2010.
I have driven to South of France, Germany, Spain and all over the UK in her. i would be confident she will take you anywhere. This is my dream bus that I have poured my heart (and pocket) into. I will definitely shed a tear when she goes. Debt forces very very reluctant sale.
