BMW E36 Genuine Alpina B2. 5 – Modern Classic
Genuine B2. 5 Alpina performance saloon built by Sytner UK, catering for the BMW enthusiast wanting the best 3 series available in 1993 (Pre M3). It remains a special car to this day with only a handful of quality examples remaining.
I have decided to sell my rare Alpina saloon. Having proved itself admirably during my ownership it is now sadly time to sell. It has got to be one of the best all round driver’s car in this price category. The limited ‘Sytner UK build’ number guarantees its rarity factor together with solid residuals, adding to the ownership experience.
The car is in superb condition for its age, a real credit to the detailed maintenance it has received over the years, Double stitch black leather interior, polished lagoon green bodywork, staggered alloys, rust free arches, rubber seals and underside are all remarkably well kept due to being garaged and mainly driven on dry days. Its had a pampered 135K miles since 1993.
The B2. 5’s talents come from a series of Alpina upgrades who focused on uplifting the driving experience from the base 325i. They improved the steering by switching to a smaller slimmer MOMO design, a more direct shift feel was given by the classic wooden gear lever, extra balance offered by the Bilstein suspension and lightweight Alpina wheels, all topped off with the classic Alpina exhaust howl produced via a manifold back system. All of the original Alpina parts specified by Sytner have remained intact making it drive and look as it was intended by Alpina/ Sytner. (except the grill badge and front lip detail – easily reversible)
The previous retired owner had taken extreme care with the vehicle and passed me a file full of receipts for work he’d had done to it including a new vanos kit. With documented history going back to its original purchase date, I have maintained this file and added all my receipts to it. Car come with 2 sets of keys/ fobs, Alpina B2. 5 build brochure.
Recent maintenance by myself include:
New pair of Bilstein B8 Sprint rear shocks/ HD top mounts and Continental tyres
Everything that has ever needed done to this car to keep it A1 has been done on schedule regardless of cost.
It has over 6 months MOT and 4 months Tax.
Note:To my regret the front o/ s front bumper was clipped by a passing motor vehicle/ bike, leaving a gap between the front bumper / wing meeting point. It hangs lower than it should. All photos of the car were taken after the incident and reflect the cars current condition and asking price.
I would prefer the vehicle to go to someone who will appreciate it’s true rarity and value, and will be not giving it away.
