Amazing 1990s Supercar.

Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign who amongst other things designed the original VW Golf and the BMW M1
The ingenious half-windows as on the Mclaren F1 ensure no draughts when driving with windows down.
The SVX's aerodynamic design endowed it with one of the lowest drag coefficients - 0. 29 , and it unique shape still attracts more attention than most other exotic cars
This particular SVX is one of the last of the 200 cars officially imported by Subaru and was first registered in 1997
Its 3. 3-litre flat six is an amazing engine, and being “non interference”, if the timing belt should break, no lasting damage will be done
Silver with black is arguably the best colour combination and the car looks stunning with its optional rear spoiler and newly refurbished alloy wheels
The bodywork is virtually immaculate and the Leather and Alcantara interior is in excellent condition . The car has every extra available at the time - all working - its Japanese after all !!
Cruise control, air conditioning, 4 electric windows, electric mirrors, electric seats,, heated front seats, electric headlight adjustment electric sunroof and rear wiper all work, as does the upmarket sound system and 10 disc CD changer.
The individual rear leather seats fold down to create a huge luggage space when required
Subaru are renowned for making some of the most effective all wheel drive cars in the world and this car bears it out - it will go anywhere
I have been lucky enough to have had several fairly exotic cars including GT3 Porsches, Ferraris and Honda NSXs, but I have been really impressed with the sheer competence of the SVX - It drives beautifully. And sicks to the road like a Limpet
When I bought the car last year the vendor explained that the service book and history file had been lost during a house move but it is quite clear from its excellent general condition that it has been properly looked after.
It has only covered 43, 000 miles and will come with a recent full service and a full years M. O. T Any inspection is welcome
If the service book and documents had not been lost , this late model and immaculate car with such a low mileage would fetch at least £9000- there is one with 72, 000 miles for sale at this price at the moment
Bear in mind only 200 of these supercars ever came into the UK, and many of those probably no longer exist- it is a very fast car after all!
Values can only increase, and rarity seems to be the governing factor with car values today
Being at the end of a production run that started in 1992 any of the problems that
affected the car when it first appeared have been long sorted and it is generally recognised that the late model SVXs are the ones to have. They are however limited to a top speed of 135mph – this can be removed, but where can you realisically do more than 135mph?
