SALE AGREED - Beautifully presented 350SL with extremely desirable V8 engine and rare manual gearbox. Originally collected direct from the factory by the first owner in November 1979, this original RHD comes in metallic silver with blue leather, a blue cloth soft top, master locks, Becker radio, automatic aerial, tinted glass and fire extinguisher, metallic silver hard top with heated rear window, additional left hand side exterior mirror, electric windows and 5 light alloy wheels. The car remained in Europe for first few years of its life with the same stockbroker owner, coming back to our shores having covered 5964 Kms (3727 miles). The speedo was changed to MPH at the second service on 3rd March 1981 and she now reads 51, 000... she's only done a total of circa 55K in 36 years!
She's had 5 owners in total, each apparently more passionate about the car than the previous one and keeping her serviced regularly. She has a fabulous and interesting documented history including I understand a TV appearance!) and she is totally original and sound, with only very light restoration to some paintwork along the way. She has no leaks and all the drain holes have been kept clear. Heater box shows no signs of rust.
Recent maintenance works in my ownership (2013) light paint work touch ups in engine compartment, new sound insulation under bonnet, re-waxoyl coverage in box sections of chassis, (2014) new master and slave clutch cylinders, oil change service, (2015) fuel filter, distributer cap, rotor arm, HT leads and spark plugs; new front tyres, new wiper blades.
MOT until end July 2016; car is totally reliable. Used when the weather in fine. She's garaged and kept under a dust sheet. Comes with roller stand for hard top.
