Description
BMW E30 with an M52 conversion (2. 8 engine from an E36)
Near Leeds West Yorkshire
Reason for sale, my wife doesn't like driving it as its a quick car and with the ABS removed its a little handful when you drive it fast.
1990 (G reg)
MOT until October 2017
133, 000 miles
It was originally a calypso red 318i lux model and has been re-sprayed in black (with a kind of metallic effect)
It is listed as Category C on the V5 document
The spec is as follows:
2. 8 engine from an E36 with history/ invoices for the donor vehicle
325 single mass flywheel
325 sport LSD (3. 64 ratio)
318is gearbox with a short/ quickshift linkage
325 disc brakes and callipers all round
E46 Clubsport quick steering rack
H&R Cup suspension
PAS
No ABS
I was informed that the ECU has a mild performance chip/ enhancement to it but I have no way of verifying this.
Dare/ CTR BBS style 15" wheels
8j fronts
9j rear
205/ 50 tyres with very good tread approx all round
Immobiliser with remote central locking
Electric front windows
Electric sunroof
HID headlights
11 button on-board computer OBC
Sport internal review mirror with map reading lights
New Sparco steering wheel
Check cloth sports seats in good condition with no rips or tears
Twin speed electric fan..... controlled by switch on the dash (works perfectly...... switch, fuses and wiring recently replaced)
I have had the car for about a year and have spent around £750 (all invoices available) doing the following:
6 new Goodridge flexi brake lines fitted
Old brake fluid flushed out and replaced with Gulf Dot 5. 1 fluid
New Mintex rear pads
New gearbox linkage fitted (all genuine BMW parts)
New gearbox oil
New LSD oil
New (E36) radiator, water pump and belt
Coolant flush and refilled with new (blue) coolant (50/ 50 mix)
Oil and Filter change (5w-40)
New valve cover Gasket
6 Bosch BKR6EK spark plugs
The conversion was done 3/ 4 years ago by a previous owner.
As you can see from the pictures it is a nice tidy install with all the wires and loom neatly out the way.
It had been my intention to turn this into a full track car but I decided not to strip it out and now my circumstances have changed so I'm selling it and someone can either use it as a fast road car or a track car.
Some invoices/ bills/ old MOTs
Bad bits:
Sometimes it takes quite a few turns of the key to fire up.
Other times its fires up fine first time. I have been told that it might need a replacement crank position sensor.
Some rust in places, mainly round the wheel arches (photo of the worst one shown) and some envy scratches/ small dents on the paintwork.
Headlining is a little tired/ dirty
3inch crack in bottom left corner (passenger side) of windscreen but did not come up as an advisory on the last MOT.
Dash split/ cracked
...... Remember, it is a 30-year-old car so don't expect it to be like a 3 -year-old one!.....
Open to offers/ swaps/ PX
Please no calls after 6. 30 as i have the little one to put to bed.
